Family

Bill Steinberg is the son of the late Morris Steinberg and Clara Steinberg. He grew up in Hampstead and his mother still lives here. His siblings are Jonathan, a top Canadian bridge player residing in Toronto and Ivy, an extremely accomplished sportswoman who lived in Hampstead until recently moving to Toronto.

After graduating from McGill University, Bill married Doris Staniszewski and the two of them went to Northwestern University in Chicago where they obtained Ph.D's in Psychology.

When it was time to start a family, they returned to Hampstead and built their home on Albion. Their children are Tara, a McGill graduate currently in her second year of McGill Law School and Craig who is finishing his undergraduate degree at McGill. The family is rounded out by Cole. While Cole has not been to university, Doris believes that he is the smartest dog in the world.

Bill has lived in Hampstead for over 45 years and knows it as a kid growing up and as a parent raising his children in our town. He cared enough about Hampstead to lead and win the fight to reclaim it. He will be just as passionate about rebuilding Hampstead to its former glory and making it better than ever.
